Job Description: Employee Benefits Risk Advisor

This is a tremendous opportunity to maximize and build your professional network of referral sources including local business leaders, financial advisors, accountants, attorneys, professional associations, community organizations, and affiliations. In addition, RIG has a virtually untapped book of commercial property and casualty clients for our new Risk Advisor to offer group health and voluntary benefits products. 

Our team environment will provide you with a wealth of resources to help you reach your full potential. Business development is the focus of the position and offering insurance and risk solutions to existing clients is encouraged. Earning potential is not capped.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive and thoughtful Business Plan to support the firm’s annual strategic plan
  • Achieve pre-determined sales goals
  • Track activity in agency’s CRM
  • Participate in continuing professional development on an “on-going” basis as defined in Business Plan
  • Consistently identify and build referral partner relationships based upon the business plan
  • Contact prospects by personal visits, email, text, virtually or over the telephone
  • Keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, including changes in compliance, product line offerings, and changing insurance consumer trends and needs
  • Deepen relationships with RIG’s Employee Benefits’ trading partners
  • Analyze existing plan designs of prospective clients to improve and earn the business relationship
  • Determine the prospect’s needs and wants – present alternative insurance solutions and products
  • Qualify prospective businesses for both eligibility and acceptability
  • Become proficient at gathering multiple insurance programs to analyze and create a total insurance solution tailored to each client
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Employee Benefits’ experience, NoCo marketing territory preferred
  • Experience interacting with corporate individuals responsible for placing the Employee Benefits’ program for staff
  • Relationship building

  • Strong sense of urgency and thorough follow-up
  • Colorado L/A/H License
  • 4-year College degree – preferred
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows Suite
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently
  • Team player
  • Self-managing
  • This position requires routine but minimal travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodic review are to be expected.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $75,000.00 per year + commission

Education:

  • 4-year college degree or record of sales success

  • Insurance: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Colorado Life, Accident and Health License
